OVERVIEW
The Grand Mauritian Resort and Spa Mauritius Balaclava Fort is
located on one of the most pristine stretches of beach overlooking
the Bay of Balaclava. Offering 210 well-appointed rooms, the resort
is just a few metres from Baie aux Tortues, which 17th-century sailors
named after the many tortoises in the area.
A trip to the Central Market of Port Louis reveals handmade crafts
and cuisine representing the different cultures and ethnicities
of Mauritius, including Creole, Indian, Chinese and Muslim. The
hotel is located just north of the capital, a 15-minute drive from
the clubs and sights of Grand Baie and 50 minutes from Plaisance
International Airport.

GUEST ROOM
Each of the 15 villas is designed to embrace the beauty of the
resort's spectacular beachfront setting. The landscaping, various
water-based features and the sheer beauty of the Indian Ocean work
their way into the simple yet sophisticated décor. All rooms
offer a breathtaking sea-view.
All of the 193 rooms and suites have a classic feel, though a modern
aesthetic weaves its way in and out of the tastefully appointed
spaces with thoughtful amenities, including flat screen televisions.
A palette of soft, muted colours that includes taupe, ivory, and
duck-egg blue adds a sense of serene elegance to the room. Spacious
and airy marble bathrooms and dressing areas open up onto a generous
bedroom and patio area, the ideal spot to admire the natural reef
and gentle waves pulsing below.

DINING & ENTERTAINMENT
Brezza Restaurant:
'Brezza', the speciality restaurant focuses on an Italian contemporary
cuisine. It is integrated in design with the resort's main pool
as well as overlooking the beach and turtle bay. By day, a relaxed
yet casual vibrant atmosphere fills this restaurant and by night
it is transformed into a romantic fine dining experience with Italian
wines and traditional dishes from the regions of Tuscany and Umbria.
The Brezza Pool bar is the perfect area for an aperitif and digestif
to enjoy poolside. Or if you enjoy the wine experience, book the
private table in the Brezza Wine room to enjoy a wine dinner with
the chef and the sommelier's selection of wines to accompany your
dinner.

Season by Stephane:
Season by Stephane is the Signature restaurant by the French awarded
Chef de Cuisine Stephane Brallet. ‘Season by Stephane' is
the main showcase for celebrated award-winning Chef Stephane Brallet.
With its ‘open kitchen', the guest is treated to an interactive
food experience.
The restaurant offers a nice view of tropical internal gardens
and large cascading water features whilst overlooking the beach
and the Indian Ocean. With 250 references the Season Wine room features
a wide range of French Grand Cru's, South African and New World
wines; a perfect setting for a personal wine and cheese tasting
with the chef and sommelier.
Reflections:
On the other side of the resort next to the smaller of
the two pools, is the other day restaurant and bar, ‘Reflections'
which, in keeping with its relaxed surroundings, provides some ‘light-bites'
for in-house guests. Contemporary in design and red, white and chrome
has been used extensively to add a vibrant, elegant and fresh feel.

Bar 68:
‘Bar ‘68' celebrates the year of independence for Mauritius
- 1968. Centrally located in the resort, it is an ideal place to
enjoy a cocktail under the large white sun canopies or to lounge
on one of the exclusive terraces. One of the largest selections
of Whiskeys and Cognacs in combination with fine cigars, Bar 68
is a perfect area for a sun downer or a pre-dinner drink.
In the evening, the bar transforms into the ideal rendezvous, before
and after dinner, and the perfect place to enjoy the daily live
entertainment, the backdrop of Indian Ocean and a canopy of stars.

Beach:
The Grand Mauritian Resort & Spa Mauritius is located directly
on the beach. A large portion of the beach has been maintained in
its natural condition with deference to the Marine Park that the
hotel is located on. This area is lush with trees from which swing
hammocks to while the day away as well as remnants of volcanic rock,
bordered by the largest swimming pool in Mauritius and Brezza, the
specialty Italian restaurant. Cabanas, hammocks and beach services
like towel or drinks are available.
The other section of the beach is utilized for swimming, beach
games, and water sports and as the perfect backdrop for Reflections,
the beach-side restaurant and our second swimming pool.
Boat House & Diving:

days lounging by the crystalline turquoise waters of the Indian

For the more energetic, however, there are countless options, such
as scuba diving (with an additional supplement), glass bottom boat,
water-skiing, sailing, pedalo, snorkelling and more. The resort
is situated right on the natural marine park of Turtle Bay, which
offers unsurpassed snorkelling and scuba diving.
Exclusive Catamaran Cruise:
Set off from the hotel's jetty in the late afternoon and board the
hotel’s exclusive catamaran. After relaxing with a swim and
snorkelling, the sunset cruise will take you along the northern
coastline of Mauritius, where you can best appreciate the solitude
of the ocean and a romantic sunset too.
As sunset heralds in a canopy of stars, the chef for the evening
will present you with a delicious barbecue dinner complimented by

The Marine Nature Park is adjacent to the resort and an excellent
alternative for those wishing to enjoy a leisurely stroll through
relaxing and scenic surrounds.
Tennis:
Opportunity abounds for the athletically inclined at The Grand Mauritian
Resort & Spa Mauritius. Partake in a spirited game of tennis
in one of the two lighted courts, both conveniently located at the
entrance to the hotel and offering breathtaking views of the mountains.
Fitness Centre:
The fitness centre - located on the first floor of the Mandara Spa
- includes cardio, strength and movement training facilities. Steam
rooms, sauna's and Jacuzzi's soothe tired muscles post workout.
Explorers Kids Club:
Kids are celebrated at The Grand Mauritian Resort and Spa Mauritius,
as evidenced by the fun-filled Explorers Kids Club. The club is
a fully supervised indoor and outdoor playground catering to children
